On my first trip to work in Asia, I stopped in Tokyo on the way. Kansai was my favorite designer and I visited his store. I loved the empowering magic of his clothing! I still own all the pieces that I bought that day. They are a treasure and true inspirations that made me love fashion and encouraged me to be a fashion designer. Last year I was blessed to do a collaboration with Kansai. The clothes had his iconic designs with all the confidence and optimism that Kansai inspires. This was truly a dream come true.
I know the Nippon Genki Project will inspire future designers the same way I was inspired by Kansai. He made me dream. Live your dream!!! xxx

はじめて仕事でアジアを訪れたとき、どうしても東京に寄りたい理由がありました。大好きなデザイナーである寛斎さんのお店に行ってみたかったのです。着るひとに元氣をくれる魔法のような寛斎さんの服がとても好きだったから。そのとき購入した服は、いまでもだいじに持っています。私がファッションを好きになる原点であり、ファッションデザイナーになる勇気をくれた、たいせつな宝物です。そんな寛斎さんと昨年、コラボレーションする機会をいただきました。寛斎さんらしいポジティブさが込められたデザインになったと思います。憧れの寛斎さんと共演するという夢が叶って、本当にうれしかったです。私が寛斎さんからインスピレーションを受けたり、夢をもらったように。この日本元気プロジェクトは、若手のデザイナーや、これからデザイナーになるひとにとって、きっといい刺激になることでしょう。みなさん、夢に生きなくちゃ!!
